The higher goal of most of our communication is emotional sharing and connectivity. The information part takes primacy in immediate work tasks or direct teaching, but even in those environments the performance lags behind if the emotional connection is poor.

Essentially we distinguish 2 separate sides: a cognitive, calculating and ego-oriented “right side” that lives mostly in our left brain, and an emotional, relational, imaginative and integrative “left side” that lives mainly in our right brain.
